Moments of Happines: My Hobby

My top hobby is definitely shopping. However, since shopping requires money, I often go window shopping instead when I’m on a budget. I enjoy browsing through stores and adding items to my wishlist so that when I do have money, I already know what I "need" to buy. Shopping is my ultimate stress reliever, though seeing a low bank balance afterward can bring the stress right back! Still, I always remind myself, "It's better to regret buying than to regret not buying." For me, shopping isn’t just about visiting malls. Since my hometown, Mukah, doesn’t have big shopping malls, I often find joy in grocery shopping—picking up snacks, ingredients, and anything I feel like eating. I also love bakery shopping, indulging in fresh pastries and treats. Here in Selangor, my go-to shopping destinations are IOI City Mall Putrajaya and One Utama Shopping Mall, as they are more budget-friendly compared to high-end places like Pavilion Bukit Bintang. The Face Behind the Blog: Who am I ?

Hi, You must be wondering who the author of this blog is, right? Well, it’s me—the one and only Mohamad Madzwann bin Ahmad Zain . People usually call me Madzwann or Wann , but in my family, I’m always known as "Abang" since I’m the eldest among my siblings. (Me riding motorcycle at night around Mukah) I come from Mukah, Sarawak , a small yet vibrant coastal town known for its rich Melanau culture and delicious umai (a traditional Sarawakian raw fish dish). My dad was born in Mukah, Sarawak while my mom is from Balingian, Sarawak . Since these two towns are only about 60 kilometers apart , celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri has never been an issue for my family—we always get to be close to both sides. Being Sarawakian is something I take great pride in. We have a unique mix of cultures, languages, and traditions that make our daily lives more colorful. One fun fact? Whenever I want to say something that my Malay friends won’t understand, I can just switch to Melanau ( jus...

Unpacking My UKM Journey: Registration Day

When I received the offer from UKM, I was beyond excited, as studying in Peninsular Malaysia had been my goal since SPM. It felt like a dream come true. A few days before registration, my parents and grandfather accompanied me to do some shopping for my college essentials, such as pillows, groceries, and other necessities to help me settle in comfortably. The preparations made me even more excited, as everything started to feel real. On registration day, my uncle, who is a UKM alumnus and lives in Shah Alam, joined us as a guide. Having someone familiar with the university made things easier, and he shared stories about his time at UKM, which made me even more eager to start my journey. The moment I stepped into the university, it felt surreal—I had finally achieved something I had dreamed of for so long. Since the registration process was already completed online, the day was mainly focused on college registration and key collection. After receiving my key, we headed to my block and e...
